Creating a memory book
Find out about creating a memory book: a chance to record someone's life, and a wonderful tool for reminiscence.
Creating a memory book
When we lose a loved one, we often lose their precious family stories.
Sarah Lott is passionate about celebrating and preserving those memories and stories before they are lost — and also about the therapeutic benefits of the reminiscence process. She’s a published writer, has a degree in psychology and is a qualified creative reminiscence practitioner.
Sarah will explore why it’s so important to capture family memories and she’ll give you ideas and easy ways to get started. We’ll then share some memories, so please bring a photo of yourself as a child to the Zoom session and find an object in your home which has a story to tell, and pen and paper.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any of those things to hand. Just bring yourself!
Sarah founded The Memory Book in 2010 and works as a life story writer, gives talks, runs workshops and creative reminiscence projects and coaches people who want to write their own life stories.
