Support over Christmas
Our offices will be closed from 2pm on Friday 24th December until 9am on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
If you need support during this time you’ll find the opening times of other organisations available during the festive period below.
Out of hours social care Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
Surrey County Council’s Emergency Duty Team provides an emergency social work service for urgent situations which arise out of normal office hours.

Urgent mental health support
For adults
If you are experiencing mental health difficulties, and are aged over 18, you can call the Mental Health Crisis Line for Surrey on 0800 915 4644.

For children and young people
The CYP Haven is a safe space for children and young people aged 10-18 where you can talk about worries and mental health in a confidential, friendly and supportive environment. They are based at 4 locations in Surrey. This year they are closed after the 19th December, and reopen on the 4th of January.

Samaritans
You can also call The Samaritans at any time on 116 123 – calls are free 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

MASH – Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub
If you’re concerned about someone’s safety, you can call MASH. The Surrey MASH is made up of staff from Adult Social Care, Children’s Social Care, Health and Surrey Police

Community Support in Surrey
If you are isolating and need help with things like food shopping and collecting prescriptions you can find out how to access support at the Surrey Community Helpline pages – you can also call the service on 0300 200 1008

Food banks
It’s been a really tough year and if you are struggling and need emergency food and supplies, the Trussell Trust has a list of local foodbanks which will be operating their own opening times over Christmas – you can find more information here.
The Action for Carers office will reopen on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
