Join tutor Kai Cheong for a course of tai chi sessions to look after you in both body and mind.
Tai chi
Take some time out from caring with tai chi sessions with Kai Cheong.
This is a 6-week course, as part of our wellbeing programme. The course runs from Tuesday 2nd February to Tuesday 9th March. Places are limited and you will need to be able to attend each session.
Tai chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th-century China, tai chi is now practised around the world as a health-promoting exercise. Tai chi is commonly performed as a low-impact exercise, which means it won’t put much pressure on your bones and joints. Studies have shown that it can help people to reduce stress, improve posture, balance and general mobility, and increase muscle strength in the legs.
Kai Cheong has been practising and teaching Taiji and Qigong for about 20 years. He is a qualified Qigong teacher and an Instructor member of the British Health Qigong Association. He is also a qualified Taiji teacher and an Instructor member of the Taiji Chi Union of Great Britain and the Deyin Taiji Institute.
