Armed Forces Day Picnic – Quick Response Memorial Woodland, Dorking
If you’re a carer with any military connections, come and join us at the Quick Response Memorial Woodland to celebrate Armed Forces Day. You’re invited to come and enjoy the woodland, bring a picnic and stay for as long as you can. The event will start from 1030hrs and will go on until the woodland closes. A special event for any carers who are serving, reservist, veterans and family members.
The QRMW is a very peaceful, calming and tranquil woodland that was a vision of the founder, Paul Cooling, who himself is a veteran. The woodland is open to all visitors and is a place to reflect and enjoy the natural surroundings of the birds singing and the church bells that can be heard in the distance.
Do bring your own picnic, as there is no shop or cafe at the woodland. Find out more about the setting here.
The QRMW is off Pasture Road, Holmbury St Mary, nr Dorking RH56LG. This is on Compass Bus route 32 from Guildford to Redhill and a Metro Bus route 22 Crawley to Shere village. There are 2 bus stops that can be used, Holmbury St Mary by Belmont School (a 4-minute walk) and Holmbury St Mary on Pasturewood Road. The site has parking too.
