Ollie runs mini marathon
Ollie’s mini marathon
A big thank you to Ollie who was selected by his school to run the ‘mini marathon’ in London, on the day of the main London Marathon, April 26th.
He fundraised from friends and family, with the aim of raising funds for Action for Carers to support unpaid carers in Surrey.
He did a great job, successfully completing the run, and raising an amazing £616! A huge well done, and thank you, to Ollie.
He describes his day:
“My dad drove us up to London in his cab and we managed to park really close to St James Park to save my legs! It was packed with hundreds of children and supporters getting ready to run and cheer us on. I met my school friends, got my race number and made my way to the start line for 11.09am, which was the 17th wave of runners.
“I completed the 2.6k in 12mins and 28 seconds and came second in my school. I want to thank everyone who helped me raise £616 for young carers. It was a pleasure and I hope it helps.”
