Workshop for unpaid carers looking at suicide awareness and prevention – the signs to look out for and what to do if you have any concerns for the person you care for.
Suicide Awareness and Prevention Workshop for Carers
This suicide prevention session is especially designed for carers to make them aware of some of the signs to be aware of and know what to do and where to go for help.
The session will be led by two trainers who are both experienced in helping people at risk of suicide and training others to help.
When and where
🕒 Takes place Friday 10th April 10am–1.30pm (registration from 9.45am)
📍At Astolat, Coniers Way, Burpham, Guildford GU4 7HL.
The session will cover:
- Some common myths about suicide
- Barriers to communication about suicide
- How do people tell us about suicide
- Asking about suicide
- Listening and next steps
- Safety planning, resources and next steps
- Support for carers
