Supporting unpaid carers leads to better outcomes for carers, the people they care for, and the professionals who support them. This training is suitable for anyone working or volunteering within Surrey’s communities.
Before attending, please ensure you have completed one of our Because Carers Count training sessions within the last 12 months.
Following this training, you will have a greater understanding of:
- Professional Curiosity – Developing the skills and confidence to explore a carer’s situation, understand their needs and concerns, and know what support may be available.
- Carers’ Rights and the Law – An overview of key legislation and the rights of unpaid carers.
- Carer’s Assessments – Understanding the benefits of a Carer’s Assessment and how to help carers access one.
- Triangle of Care – How involving carers appropriately can improve outcomes for everyone involved.
- Confidentiality and Information Sharing – Balancing confidentiality while recognising the important role carers play.
- Safeguarding – Key considerations when raising safeguarding concerns relating to a carer or the person they care for.
This session will help you feel more confident in recognising, understanding and supporting unpaid carers in your role.
