Since 2021, I have led work to support Surrey’s Carers Programme within the health and social care system, giving me first-hand insight into the vital support that Action for Carers Surrey provides to people in a wide range of caring roles.
Caring has also been a significant part of my own life. I have supported my father, who lives with multiple health conditions, for many years, although I did not recognise myself as a carer until I began working in the carers programme.
This experience sparked a passion for improving the lives of unpaid carers, and ensuring their voices are heard and represented across complex health and care systems.
