It’s Carers Week 8th-14th June 2026
It’s time to celebrate the UK’s unpaid carers and recognise the huge amount they do!
Carers Week’s theme this year is ‘building carer friendly communities’ reminding organisations of carers, their situations and needs for support.
This important national theme is all about helping communities, workplaces, services and organisations better understand unpaid carers – recognising the challenges carers can face, valuing their contribution, and making sure carers feel seen, supported and included.
At Action for Carers Surrey, we know how important carers are to their family, friends and communities, often supporting family or friends quietly, tirelessly, and sometimes without even recognising themselves as carers. Carers Week is a chance to shine a light on that role, celebrate carers, and help connect more people with support.
Events to celebrate carers
We’re currently planning a range of Carers Week events and activities, both online and in person across Surrey, to give carers opportunities to connect, take time out, access support, and feel celebrated.
Full event details will be shared on our website soon, and we’ll email our registered carers with updates. If you’re not yet registered with us as an unpaid carer, please do so here.
