This Thursday is Carers’ Rights Day 2020
It’s important that all carers #KnowYourRights. Wherever you are in your caring journey, at work, in a healthcare setting, when interacting with professionals, or at home, ideally you are aware of what your rights are.
This Carers’ Rights Day, we want to empower carers with information and support, so they can feel confident asking for what they need. We also want carers to know how to challenge things when their rights are not being met.
Do you know your rights?
Do you know your rights? They include: the right to a Carer’s Assessment and your identified needs being met, rights at work, and the right not to be discriminated against because of your caring role.
How we can help
If you’ve any questions about rights, talk to us. We’re the experts and can talk you through, step-by-step. We can also advocate on your behalf, to help ensure you get what you’re entitled to – so if your rights aren’t being met as a carer, come to us.
As part of Carers Rights Day, we have Professor Luke Clements, talking about rights at our Zoom event this Thursday – a few spaces are still available. And read up more on your rights as a carer here and ensure you #KnowYourRights.
