About the role
In this varied role you will be involved in a wide range of tasks from the detailed to low level assistance to our 88 staff.
Assisting the IT manager, your role will include a mixture of tasks from trouble shooting data/technical issues; medium sized analysis and developments around the systems; Training; local hardware configuration; liaison between the outsourced network/phone providers and general IT questions and solutions.
You will also play a key role in helping the IT manager to drive change and deliver efficiencies.
Our systems and solutions are not complex and as such, this role is not a highly technical role but one where you must bring along practical experience and know-how, in order to build a rapport and a trust with the frontline teams. What is more important is that you have the ability to find solutions through support / process system change in order to ensure the business teams can function effectively.
Somebody with a medium level of IT skills/knowledge in a wide range of abilities is more preferable to a candidate with expert knowledge in one field. The successful candidate will have the ability to converse with outsource providers on IT subjects (such as VoIP; Cyber security; Active Directory) in order to get the best support for the organisation.
You must have demonstrable experience of handling a variety of technical enquiries in a busy environment and experience and understanding of IT and mobile phone equipment and hardware. Furthermore, you will have experience of code writing in VBA at a minimum and a mid level knowledge of SQL coding. You will also have proven experience in collating, analysing and reporting on data.
This role will be predominantly office-based with some opportunities for home working as you progress in the role.
