Looking after yourself and your back: Woking
It's important to take care of your back as a carer. Join our Moving and Handling experts for tips on looking after your back, keeping it strong and supple.
Looking after yourself and your back
Our Moving and Handling team can help you. They can offer expert advice to you if you help the person you care for move about (eg get out of a bed, or into the car) and they can also offer you back care advice even if you don’t help your cared-for physically.
Many of us get stiff backs, maybe from bad posture, or doing tasks (like washing the dishes) the wrong way. We may also damage our backs by helping the person we care for move in the wrong way.
This session at Bluebird Care, Woking will focus mainly on looking after your back – with simple and effective tips on keeping your back strong and avoiding pain and injury.
This is a fun, friendly and relaxed session – which should really make a difference to how you feel.
You will come away with a better understanding of how to look after your own back.

It is also on public transport routes (next door to the Lion retail park). Full address: Bluebird Care, Lion House, Oriental Road, Woking, GU22 8AR.
