We are a countywide charity supporting carers and young carers. Carers look after family, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability.  The care they provide is unpaid.

Full time, 36 hours per week, £26,526 p.a

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, committed and pro-active person with excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills to fill an exciting vacancy within our Carers Support Service.

As part of a dedicated team the successful candidate will enhance the opportunities available to carers and:
     • will work directly with families, carers and professionals. 
     • must be capable of dealing with people and families at times of stress. 
     • will be an experienced and pro-active professional, able to work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies. 

The post will be based in our Guildford office with the opportunity for homeworking, and will require travel throughout Mid Surrey. You should have a full driving licence and use of a vehicle (business mileage will be paid).

Variable Hours at Sessional Rate of £12.20 per hour
Our Surrey Young Carers Service is seeking to recruit additional staff to join our bank of Sessional Workers who assist with the planning and delivery of evening group work with young carers.  We are also looking for people who are available in the daytime/school vacations to help with, and/or to run activity days and residentials (that run) throughout the year. 

We are looking for people with experience of working with children or young people, have the ability to support, lead and deliver sessions and who have an understanding of the issues surrounding young carers. Successful candidates will have effective listening and communication skills and be capable of dealing with young people and families at times of stress.

For the group work applicants must be able to commit to regular evening work to enable us to run our sessions. You may also be required to lead on the planning and delivery of sessions on our behalf.  Group locations vary around the county and you will be expected to travel to the venue in your designated area of work.

We are seeking individuals with energy and commitment to join our board of trustees to help us move the organisation forward in this economically challenging environment.  If you have a background in fundraising, finance, ITC, Public Relations or any other relevant expertise we would like to hear from you. 

As a carer led organisation, caring experience or knowledge would enhance the understanding of our work as would an appreciation of the role of governance in the charity sector although training will be available to those new to this activity.

Whilst this role is unpaid we will reimburse reasonable expenses including travel costs and sitting service/alternative care costs if you are a carer and need this to enable you to attend meetings.
