CARERS SUPPORT SERVICE VACANCIES

We are a countywide charity supporting carers and young carers. Carers look after family, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability.  The care they provide is unpaid.

ENIOR CARERS SUPPORT ASSISTANT - MID SURREY
Full time, 36 hours per week, £26,526 p.a

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, committed and pro-active person with excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills to fill an exciting vacancy within our Carers Support Service.

As part of a dedicated team the successful candidate will enhance the opportunities available to carers and:
     • will work directly with families, carers and professionals. 
     • must be capable of dealing with people and families at times of stress. 
     • will be an experienced and pro-active professional, able to work in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies. 

The post will be based in our Guildford office with the opportunity for homeworking, and will require travel throughout Mid Surrey. You should have a full driving licence and use of a vehicle (business mileage will be paid).

SURREY YOUNG CARERS VACANCIES

SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR
Full time, 36 hours per week, 5 days 9am - 5pm, £20978 p.a.

We are looking for a keen and committed person with good all round supervisory, clerical and administrative experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of working in a busy but friendly office. 

The ideal candidate must have experience of managing a small team and capable of working on their own initiative. They must IT literate, have a proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

As the first point of contact, good communication skills and telephone manner together with the ability to empathise with carers’ needs and concerns will be essential.

The post is based in our offices in Burpham, Guildford but may require occasional travel to meetings across Surrey.

YOUNG CARERS SESSIONAL WORKERS

Variable Hours at Sessional Rate of £12.20 per hour
Our Surrey Young Carers Service is seeking to recruit additional staff to join our bank of Sessional Workers who assist with the planning and delivery of evening group work with young carers.  We are also looking for people who are available in the daytime/school vacations to help with, and/or to run activity days and residentials (that run) throughout the year. 

We are looking for people with experience of working with children or young people, have the ability to support, lead and deliver sessions and who have an understanding of the issues surrounding young carers. Successful candidates will have effective listening and communication skills and be capable of dealing with young people and families at times of stress.

For the group work applicants must be able to commit to regular evening work to enable us to run our sessions. You may also be required to lead on the planning and delivery of sessions on our behalf.  Group locations vary around the county and you will be expected to travel to the venue in your designated area of work.

MOVING & HANDLING VACANCY

MOVING & HANDLING ADVISOR
18 hours per week, covering the locality of Guildford (SW Surrey), £15,497

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Moving & Handling Advisor to join our Moving & Handling Service which is an injury prevention service for carers.

The main duties of the post are:
• To provide moving and handling risk assessments for carers with advice, support and training on moving and handling, techniques and use of equipment.
• To network with the other Moving and Handling provider in Surrey to share best professional practice in delivery of our services.
• To be involved in interagency and partnership working with local authorities, health, charities, volunteer groups and private agencies and companies, to promote the needs of carers for support and training in the field of safe moving and handling.
• To present to groups of carers about the benefits of safe moving & handling and to promote carers services.

The successful candidate will hold a qualification in either Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy. They will have practical moving & handling experience. Ideally, they will hold an appropriate Moving & Handling trainer qualification. The latter will be provided to the successful candidate if required.

The post is primarily home based and will require travel around the Guildford area and SW Surrey. You should have a full driving licence and use of a vehicle.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

VOLUNTEER TRUSTEES

We are seeking individuals with energy and commitment to join our board of trustees to help us move the organisation forward in this economically challenging environment.  If you have a background in fundraising, finance, ITC, Public Relations or any other relevant expertise we would like to hear from you. 

As a carer led organisation, caring experience or knowledge would enhance the understanding of our work as would an appreciation of the role of governance in the charity sector although training will be available to those new to this activity.


Whilst this role is unpaid we will reimburse reasonable expenses including travel costs and sitting service/alternative care costs if you are a carer and need this to enable you to attend meetings.
